fanbook translations

from the yamabuki room to, well...

Okay, these translations were not done by me since i'm not fluent in Japanese, but hey! They're pretty accurate in terms of aligning these with Sengoku's quirks and habits. Who am I "indebted" to for this? Ever since I started on the Tenipuri fandom, one of my number one resources for all-things translations-wise (besides Fruity Explosive Translation) is Tenipuri Fandom, who've worked hard to bring us who are Japanese-challenged, a little more insight into what the fanbook is other than pretty pictures with writings. So, all of these translations are from them, not me. For more Tenipuri translation fun, visit them! Other wise, for more fix on Sengoku, keep reading.

banjii's bag check! ~sengoku~

Banji is usually very affable and gentle, but he can be strict when necessary! To follow the customs of the Yamabuki Tennis Club, he has started to check the members' belongings! And the first victim is him!

Banji: Sengoku-kun, open your bag...
Sengoku: Banji, that isn't important, my divination says that my luck is good this month too---
Banji: You're disrupting my bag check!

2. Pen - One is for class, while the other is for scribbling or drawing on photo stickers.
3. Mobile Phone - Has camera function. It appears to be used before and after matches to capture memories.
4. GameBoy - It has been heard that Sengoku plays this on the bus after school. He usually plays RPG and puzzle games.
5. Comb/Brush - The reason he dresses up well is just to get the girls interested in him as well? He takes particular care of his hair.
6. Topaz - Sengoku's birthstone. It is presumed to increase one's luck, a well known 'lucky stone'.
7. Book on Tarot Cards Divination - In fact, this book was written by Fuji's sister -- clairvoyant, Fuji Yumiko. Sengoku seems to be totally clueless about it.
8. Oil Control Film - You won't be popular with girls if you walk around with an oily face! That is why he diligently keeps his skin in tiptop condition...

Banji: Too much electronic games are bad for your eyes!
Banji: If you don't train more vigorously, you'll lose to Momoshiro-kun and Kamio-kun again ---- Don't tell me you've already forgotten the pledge you made after the match with Fudomine ----
Sengoku: I know...

yamabuki tennis club room

A combination of long traditional history and modern sensuality; now let's take a look into their room!

(from top to bottom)

1. Used exclusively by Banji. Collectively bought by the club members. High quality, very comfortable for the back.
2. The locker that used to belong to Akutsu. Dan cleans it everyday so that Akutsu can use it immediately if he returns.
3. A fortune cat on top of Sengoku's locker. It is placed in the 'lucky position' according to feng shui practices.
4. Proof of Yamabuki's doubles prowess. The trophy of 20 odd years ago is still preciously displayed here.
5. The cracks on the glass panes of the entrance are additionally secured with tape. These cracks were caused by Akutsu when he kicked the door.
