yamabuki chuu

da-da-dan! jimmies! ...and akutsu?!

Welcome to the green-team-with-envy! Not really, haha. Sengoku is a regular on Yamabuki, a team coached by a guy named Banjii (real name Banda Mikiya). I think Yamabuki really invests all their power on Sengoku, despite their skillfull on-par Nationals [level] doubles players like the Jimmies and Kita-Nitobe. The real game-maker of this team is their coach, Banjii, who really sets up the players according to how successful their wins will come. Meaning, the players he sets up last (D2, singles 2, singles 1) are the ones that Banjii is confident will take the win. As Mizuki would put it, "backup insurance". Even though they'd lost to Seishun Gakuen in the Kanto Tournament, it earned them a seat (a consolation spot) to go to Nationals. However, in the end, Yamabuki had been routed during the second round of Nationals, thanks to Akutsu's absence. MEET THE TEAM! This site is all about Sengoku, so all attention in this sect is drawn to the other members of Yamabuki:

MINAMI KENTAROU & HIGASHIKATA MASAMI "The Jimmies" (Captain/Vice captain)
One of the feared doubles pairs throughout Kanto. The Jimmies are on Nationals level. Not much can be gathered of them other than that in play, they use signs to communicate their next plan. Minami is usually the one at the net, delivering signs. Poor Minami, he's usually the last captain to be remembred by fans.

DAN TAICHI "Da-da-da-Dan!" (Manager)
Pint-sized, curious little Dan! While everyone else finds Akutsu to be repulsive and violent, Dan has no fear of approaching Akutsu whatsoever. He's a little rookie data gatherer and definitely going to be a regular for Yamabuki next year. Inspired by Echizen Ryoma from Seigaku, Dan aims to be a skillful player one day, despite his small size. He's a little clumsy.

AKUTSU JIN
He used to be a regular until defeated by Echizen in the Kanto Tournament. Aside from Sengoku being ace, Akutsu was Yamabuki's last weapon for redemption. Akutsu is probably the second best known player on Yamabuki; he's the aggressive, violent kid who shares somewhat of history with Kawamura Takashi from Seigaku. After losing to Echizen, he quit tennis.

MUROMACHI TOUJI, NITOBE-KITA, NISHIKIORI
The rest of the regulars who aren't as well known. Possibly Muromachi, but none of the play styles of the characters stated above are covered or shown. We know that Nitobe-Kita is another Nationals-level doubles pair and Muromachi plays in one of the singles slot -- as for Nishikiori, I had no idea he existed until I re-checked the Yamabuki regulars roster.
